Our customer had purchased a small cottage, with a back garden terraced steeply upwards. The small patio outside the lounge patio doors was the only space available to build a conservatory, so the size was very limited. It was also the case that there was only a limited budget available. At the same time we wanted to offer our customer a design which was attractive, which enhanced the appearance of the property from the garden, and which fulfilled a brief which was to provide an area in which to relax in the sun.
The design we offered was economic without being boring, with a 'hipped lean-to' roof double glazed in toughened tinted glass to reduce glare. The top-hung opening fanlights and the sliding patio door would provide ample ventilation.
The result is an attractive area where our customer can relax, in the sun but out of the wind, enjoying the garden in both summer and winter.
